First ever sewing project

I've taken a recent interest in sewing, which was sparked by wanting to sew some curtains for our new home. Before possibly runing some expensive designer fabric, I thought I'd start out with a bit smaller project, so I made a checkbook cover. I was very happy with my work and wished I would have used a
fabric that's a little more "me", so I guess I'll be making myself another one.

Here are a couple fabric samples that I picked for our patio
doors and family room. The one on the right is heavier, so I'd like to use that
one for the patio doors. The fabric hasn't been purchased yet. I'm afraid to buy
it in case I find something later that I like better, which has been known to
happen.
